I would keep every one that I rescued, if I could. Unfortunately Daisy will not let that happen. I have to keep the new ones away from her because she will fight. She gets along with Raven because they were raised together. I usually have the new ones only for a day or so. I work with a few organizations that I turn them over to. They are the ones that put in the hard work. I help them out financially and by transporting Dogs to new or foster homes.

Good for you molly. We always take rescues at our place. Our best friend is a veterinarian and calls us when we are looking for a dog and gives us a rescue he has. Never steared me wrong.

Good for you also. I spread the news on the Rez that I will take unwanted animals. You don't know how many Dogs are chained up in a back yard and left with no food or water once they are no longer wanted. I give them an option. I have also gone into yards and just taken some Dogs. I had an Indian who came to me about 6 months ago and asked if I could come get 2 9 month old Weiner Dogs from her yard. She said they she had to kick them to make them leave but they kept coming back. I asked who they belonged to and she said that they were hers but that she didn't want them anymore because she just got a Teacup Yorkie puppy!!! This really pissed me off, but I rescued them. I won't break your heart by telling you about the dead Dogs that I find in an area I call 'The Boneyard'. I have a collection jar by the register at the store for donations to my different Animal Rescue organizations. But, more importantly, people must be made aware that their is an option.

Our dog was locked in a garage for the first nine months of his life and the neighbor worked at the vet clinic. When our farm dog was hit by a car the vet called us. I was unsure of the dog because I was afraid he would be neurotic but when I got him, of course, fell in love. I walked him up and down our lane and told him no everytime he touched the gravel so he wouldn't go across and bother the 80 year old neighbors. I can sit on their porch talking to them for hours and he won't cross the lane. But she leaves him scraps out the back door. He waits until her porch light goes out and then goes over and gets them.

Even some of the most abused ones turn out to be the most lovable ones. This is Rex. His story-I got a call about him from the Park Rangers. The story is that he had a broken leg for 1 month. He tried to go into the house and the owner kicked him and broke his leg, but never bothered to get him treatment. I went into the yard and 'stole' him and rushed him to a vet. He is a 4 month old Catahoula Hound, and the most trusting dog I have ever met. He had to have his leg amputated. As soon as I got him, he was on the internet. By the time he was ready to be adopted, there were about 50 people standing in line for him!!

What a sweetheart! Lucky guy now! Mine is so happy. Locked in a garage for 9 months and now 200 acres to roam free.

This is how I spent my very HOT weekend. Youngest guy turned 3. Teaching him to swim so he can drag the gators onto shore for better shots. (He told his brother about the gator at gramma's and it didn't have a face. :? ) Oldest is 5.

Temperature 100 degrees
Water cold
Shots of instructors - priceless (for you rlaugh, gregory, sg)

What beautiful boys both you and Jen have! All of my children are real Dogs-and I mean that literally!

Up until now all my children had 4 legs. I had 2 dogs about 15 yrs. each. I still miss them everyday. At one point I had 2 dogs and 4 cats. I had them all all their lives except my last dog Jasper. He was a 135 lb. pit bull ...I kept him till I had the baby.

I will carry the guilt with me for the rest of my life. I gave him to a friends son, last I heard he had gotten evicted, l have no idea what happened to Jasper because I moved away. I don't have any contact with my life before 5 years ago. He was old then, I wish I had just had the guts to put him down , then at least I would know he had a good end.

You just have to believe Jenn. You did everything you could when you had him.
