Does anyone have one of these. If so what brand and can it be used for macro shooting

I googled it and it seemed pricy and of questionable use? The number 1 thing you want from a tripod is a stable platform and that didn't look stable.
Kind of reminds me of some items in fishing tackle shops that have caught more fishermen than fish.

There is the original Edelkrone, a version 2 that adds an additional set of arms for more flexibility, and a bunch of Chinese clones that range from cheap to very cheap.
The main difference between Edelkrone and the clones (besides price and quality), is that the Edelkrone has a pan adjustment. That is critical for most use, unless you mount it on something that provides pan adjustment already.
I use one as a desktop mount; works well. You can't load a big camera/lens combo, as it works by friction and does not have a locking mechanism.
I would get a macro rail, rather than a Z adapter, for macro use.
Looked like a disaster to me.
I am a noob at photography, but I am an experienced engineer, and I would not take that thing if it was free...
I'm pretty experienced with photography and a lot of years as an aerospace mechanical engineer and couldn't agree with you more.

Thats a bad sign, a large piece of the profits will be going on advertising it.
A better question would be, do i know anybody with one? do they use it? would they give or sell it to you or just tell you not to waste your money on one.
As an example i have a manfroto tripod head sitting on a shelf, i would give that to a friend to use while they are waiting for an arca swiss head :)
I wouldnt mind if it didn't come back.
I'll take that Manfrotto Head :-)

Shipping to the USA would probably exceed the cost of an arca swiss ball head... Chinese one anyway.
