I came here because my 13 year old son loves photography. I am trying to help him develop his style and techniques. He is in 4-H and has won several awards and has gone to our state fair for his photos. He has taken a photography summer school course too.
Cool.

Welcome to the Hog, enjoy.
My 10 year old granddaughter loves to take pictures. I was taking some photos for by daughters cook book) which did get published.
I turned and my granddaughter had my Sony a7s with 70 200 lens up to her eye. She had put the strap around her neck. And continued
carefully shooting for a while. Now I could have said the camera/lens is 4k you cant do that. She was careful and I let her shoot. A couple of years ago
she grabbed a small camera and shot all around our house a lot of graphic CU's. Some shots were interesting. We moved to FL and this summer
I was helping a friend shoot a luxury party ship in Hollywood Beach. Once again granddaughter grabbed a camera and started shooting.
She was with us on a mini cruise to Bahamas and I bought her a portable Olympus that was also underwater camera. She shot during
the entire trip. Loved underwater stuff.
I never tried to get her to use settings. She was always in auto. I didn't discuss framing and creative decisions. She draws and is always
making montages with all kinds of materials. Just some notes that really let kids go until the time that they have to learn F Stops.
Right now just let him visualize and create. Congrats and good luck.
