The X-A5 does have an eye view finder. Upper right hand corner. I wouldn't want it either if it didn't have that. I will be tempted to buy it just to have another toy.

x-a3 doesn't...which is were the confusion is probably coming from.

I am a recent convert to Fuji but still also love my Canon. I think the X-A5 may just be the perfect camera for my wife. At least that's what I'll tell myself if I buy it.

Just saw the Fuji X-A5 announcement. Looks like a powerful little mirrorless, especially for the price of $599 with kit lens. Has anyone handled one yet? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance.

You can buy a very good midrange XE2S with the excellent 18-55 f/2.8-4 Kit Lens AND a very excellent viewfinder for just $39 more at Adorama. The XE2S is about 3/4" wider, but the other dimensions and weight are about the same. You might just as well use a high end cell phone if you are willing to spend $600 on a camera without a viewfinder.

Look again - that black blob in that corner is the thumb rest

It does have a viewfinder. Pay attention and know what you’re talking about.

Could be good - and probably will - but I don't like the term "entry level." Even as a beginner, I would like to start several steps up the ladder. I look forward to reviews, but I hope I'm not tempted to buy one. : )

Nice specs -

I never liked the term "entry-level" either. Hell, I'd rather it be called "budget model". When my Buick Lucerne was still new, A magazine article described it as an "entry-level" American luxury car... Hmph! After 40 years of busting my a$$, I'm damned sure not "entering" any thing, LOL, I was just after the "budget model" Cadillac!

Why so negative? Especially since you dont really know the correct answer. Pics of the camera clearly show no viewfinder but given that is not apparent to you, here’s a link that clearly states there is no viewfinder:

Have a nice day and try to have a negative free weekend.

Yep, No eye level veiwfinder of either the electonic or optical kind. This is a bummer, I only tolerate not having a VF on ultra compact P&S cameras.

I was planning on running some Kodak 400TX through my MX today, So I for one can't help but have a negative weekend!

Yep, you are right. I stand corrected. Since I don't shot film I will have a "negative" free weekend. Cheers!

A camera obscura is an entry level camera. A Kodak Brownie is a step up. Digital cameras in general are far beyond being entry level with their complexity, especially mirrorless. All of them can be pointed, shot, and produce a pleasing photo. Just my thoughts on this often discussed issue.

Some camera obscura (obscuri?!?) were actually room sized, That's taking "entry level" to a literal degree!

I don't think it's a good entry level but rather a good advanced level as secondary camera. If it's the primary camera for entry level you would have to buy expensive glasses for not so expensive camera. If you already have the XT-2 and good glasses the body is a good second camera.

The question is why Nikon is not re-engaged in the mirrorless market yet (and anymore). Their first offerings were too soon. Now they seem too late, as many switch brands. Rumors are of a pro full framer. I say give us an APC mirrorless in a small package that can accept current "non-mirrorless" lenses as well as specific lenses, and I will stop waiting and buy. Apparently optical physics makes that difficult, considering current offerings.
