I did a search and the most recent thread I found was a few years old.
Looking for the best free recovery software.
Is Recuva still the best?

From my limited experience with recovering, if files are able to be recovered, many programs can retrieve them. As an experiment, I formatted an SD card in a camera, took two pictures, and then used Recuva. After about thirty minutes, it recovered nothing.

Glad this topic was brought up...my first SD card blew up yesterday. Just some animal shelter pics that I can redo but dont want to.

Took about 150 shots...card was corrupted but Recuva only recovered 16.

Any ideas?
Thanks

If the card was corrupt, recovery software won't recover what isn't there in the first place.

What website do you get it from? Some of them push a lot of their "free stuff" that you don't want along with what you do want.

You have a choice of downloading from either filehippo or Ccleaner. Try to avoid downloading junk along with it.
