people I have received a pm from bob. First he is avet served in Korea. @nd He was totaly screwed over most dishonorabily by the gov't and the pentaagon. He has every right to be angry. he wasn't attacking vets but the military establishment. Had he provided a few more details, this wouldn't be flaming right now. After what he told me Bob has a right to be furious.

There's a time and a place to vent your anger....IT IS NOT on a thread that simply was opened for collegiality and comraderie. I thank every vet for thier service. Life aint fair, that doesnt allow us to piss in others' cornflakes.

I'm not a Vet, but I did get my discharge papers when my husand retired, so I'll post his info here.

He spent 8.5 years in the Army, serving as a combat medic in IaDrang Valley and An Khe, Vietnam 1965-66, with the 15th Medical Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division..

He missed the military so he joined the Navy and completed another 13 years, retiring in 1986 with 22.5 years of service. Also have 2 sons who served in the Air Force... To each one of you who have served...THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

USAF from Jan 1968 to November 1978 as Electronic Warfare Technician. Served in Europe, but mostly Asia. After early assignments with F-4s and F-105s, I went to work on B-52s for a while. The remaining 8 years of service, I worked on U-2s and SR-71s. By that time, I'd lost most of my hearing. About 2 years ago, I applied for disability from the VA, and they obliged.

To all of you, thanks for serving.

Great Thread, Overly Hacked. I have the utmost respect for all our military men and women. Its nice for people with a common bond to find each other through another common bond, Photography. I would like to see some military photos of everyone.... either of themselves "back when" or places they might have been stationed. God Bless America !!!!

New to this board but on several others. Retired US Army Master Sergeant (1962-1985). Went through Infantry OCS as far as Senior Candidate and got busted leg out of it. Didn't want to recycle so I left. Served 2 tours in 'Nam. 282nd Combat Assault Helicopter Company(Crew Chief/Gunner on Hueys)and 134th AHC as Quality Control NCOIC.So I can say "been there...done that" pretty much. Lot's of stories. Tours also in Korea, Germany,Thailand, and Italy. Retired from Ft Hood TX.. All I can say is it was all good and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I am proud of our military and their families. God Bless all of them.

I was there in 65-66 as well at Marble Mountain near DaNang. IaDrang and Khe-Sahn caught holy hell. And medic to boot! A hero for certain. Thank your husband for his service. Welcome home! BTW you can count yourself as military anytime. Spouses had a much harder job in my opinion. Thank you as well.

You do any Carrier Duty?.I was on the old Tyco, CVA 14 after I got back from Nam and the PBR tour. She was converted to ASW and designated a CVS . Many of the birds you talked about were on board.
And CONGRATS on your retirement!
Well deserved
