It depends on the voltage. If too high, it could damage your camera. I would assume a Minolta flash would be compatible with Minolta SLR film cameras. Unless someone knows about this flash unit. It may serve you well to get a flash unit surely compatible to your Nikon D5200.

I have the Minolta Auto 320x which is very similar to the 200x. It just has a bit more power and more auto ranges. I used it on 4 different Nikon digital cameras without problem.

If the OP doesn't want to take the risk, give me the flash and I promise to use it on my DSLR.

This seems to be a recurring question on UHH, one which I don't understand.

If a new flash for your camera costs $x (you don't need to buy a Nikon-brand flash) and the replacement cost for your possibly-fried D5200 could be as much as $10x, why would you even take that risk of placing it in your hot shoe?

And so I always asked whoever didn't want to take the risk send the flash to me so that I PROMISE to take the risk.

I totally agree. Why risk damage to your camera.

I asked all those who have those old flashes to give them to me. I will use them. I am willing to take the risk. So far nobody would give up their old flashes.

This list http://dpanswers.com/roztr/volt_finder.php says 5.3 volts for the 200X. Under 6 volts is considered safe for Nikon.

No! Absolutely not. Most older flashes have high voltage triggers and will fry a newer camera in a heartbeat. Besides, it's a Minolta flash. It's not designed for a Nikon.
