You cannot go wrong with ImgBurn. Simple and reliable, and free too.

Thanks much. Any suggestions for a modestly priced M Disc writer that will work with this software?

As I mentioned in an earlier post I tried storing photo files on M Discs but was not successful using two different writers without success and gave up. I think the problem was with the software and have read in reviews this is a common problem with this technology. Can anyone tell me what hardware - software combination they've use for this successfully? Thanks.

Did you use M-Disc compatible writers? I think LG is the only maker of compatible writers. If it is compatible, it'll have an M-Disc logo on on the front.

I think most LG DVD writers are compatible. Here's one at Amazon:

<https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-Internal-Optical-GH24NSC0B/dp/B00MOUBYDQ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1516387655&sr=8-6&keywords=LG+DVD+writer>

Notice the M-Disc logo on the front.

That LG drive is an internal drive and I don't think I can use it with my laptop, although I'm not certain. I would like an external drive.

The two drives I tried were both labeled "M Disc supported" (and one was an LG) but as I recall (it's been a year) software was required to write M Discs that did not come with the drives and what I obtained didn't work with the drives.

If someone is using a M Disc writer and has software that works with it I would very much like to know the details.

Thanks for responding.

If they have M-Disc support, they should be fine. I have no idea what software you are referring to. I've successfully written M-Discs with both internal and external writers just using the standard DVD-writing software that comes with the OS. Sometimes there are tricky nuances with burning like you need to make sure you close it out as some systems like to leave it open for additions. However, if you can burn a standard DVD, you do exactly the same thing with an M-Disc DVD.

ASUS also makes M-Disc compatible writers.
