Hello photo friends. I have a D80 with a non-working LED back screen. Otherwise excellent condition. Is it worth repairing? My local store would not accept it on trade saying it was useless; I do not necessarily trust them. I have a new DSLR but I hate to just throw this away as it would be good as a backup. Any ideas?
Maybe but probably not cost effective. Do a Google search for LED back screen repair for a range of costs.
> to get an idea of what's involved in its replacement; they don't mention cost of parts and labor. On eBay, the camera itself runs less than $100 for the body and accessories, maybe even including the box. You could also sell your body for parts; one such body has a $13.50 bid so far.
I have one too that just died. It appears OK upon startup but I get an error message when I press the shutter.
Have you tried a camera reset? See instructions. Cheers! Ed
