Los-Angeles-Shooter has posted a thread titled “The Real Reason Democrats Are Obsessed With Immigration.”

He has ignored me, and I commend him for it as it saves me much time and effort answering his errors and failures, but this once I must respond outside of his thread; so here it is, for all to read. Thank you for your consideration.


We have in this post an immigrant to this country, who now eschews immigrants. And he write in his second language presumably, and better than I would write in mine if I had a second language. He must be guilty of rape and crime, murder and violence, doubtless illegal voting and collecting outrageous welfare benefits, as we know all immigrants do such things. Still, information and logic must translate from language to language, especially, I would think, from Israel.

I can’t critique everything he says; the retort would be four times longer than his confused thoughts, and already I tread on the patience of conservatives who are not interested in reading contrary information, particularly contrary information longer than two paragraphs.

Still...

But let us begin.

Let’s see. “97% of immigrants in the appropriate grouping identify themselves as Hispanic.” What the hell does that mean? Does he admit that ninety-seven percent of another appropriate grouping identify themselves as Jewish? Ninety-seven percent of another appropriate grouping would identify themselves as Irish!

Fully 100% of another appropriate grouping would identify himself as Vladimir Putin. Does any of this mean anything?

How about this: “56% in the third generation call themselves Americans.” Great! That’s exactly what immigration is all about, isn’t it? Assimilation! Wonderful!

“If a minority stops existing after a few generations, did it ever actually exist?” And if it never actually exists, why spend $40 billion to keep half of this phantom entity out of the country with a wall? Does that make sense?

“The Democrats had abandoned their working class base to chase what they pretended was a racial group when what they were actually chasing was the momentum of unlimited migration.” The Democrats did not abandon the working class; that’s foolishness. Democrats represent the working class. Republicans certainly don’t. Democrats weren’t chasing the momentum of unlimited migration, AMERICANS were chasing that momentum, and have always chased that momentum. It is a national ideal, that immigration, that built this nation, a continuing national ideal symbolized by torch and crown of the Statue Of Liberty.

“In the economics of identity politics, Hispanics, unlike African-Americans, are not an enduring group.” Great! Half of the so-called illegals Fly into this nation, so then the wall—$40,000,000,000 worth of it—deals with 50% of a temporary and declining group. What a waste!

“Democrats have pinned their hopes for a national majority on a European origin group whose minority status is cultural and linguistic. And even without the old melting pot, foreign languages and cultural affinities decline across generations as immigrants become Americans.” (Great, once more! That is exactly what immigration is all about.) “What Democrats really want aren’t a lot of Hispanics, but an endless firehose of first generation immigrants.” Yes, goddammed indeed! We want that endless firehose yesterday, now, tomorrow and forever! We want the firehose that brought us directly and indirectly George Washington, and Benjamin Franklin, brought us Felix Frankfurter and Joseph Pulitzer, Ayn Rand, Rupert Murdoch (well, maybe...), Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, Yul Brenner, Irving Berlin, Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant—how about John Lennon?—Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google, Levi Strauss, Jan Koum—remember him? The founder of Facebook?—how about Jerry Yang—you know Yahoo, don’t you? Bring ‘em all, each and every one, we’re still not satisfied, bored or sated. Fire up that firehose, man, we can’t wait for the surprises coming down the hose! Sweet, Jesus! Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!

But I get carried away. This immigrant screed I review is 24 paragraphs long, and I reviewed only six of them, but I tire, and you tire, too.

My friends, people lie to you. They twist their own words, and they twist your words, and they twist anybody’s logic, and they twist no logic at all. I’ve shown you some examples. Find your own.

Being a citizen is a responsibility. You owe the nation. You owe it your logic and judgement. You owe it to be informed. You owe it to think and feel and not be led, or used or confused. You owe the nation and the people around you to make the nation work, to make it better than it is, and as good as it can be.

And you deserve better than this we’ve been reading.
