Good morning Hoggers.

Situation:
I am viewing a photo (in either Develop or Library mode) and I think I have a better shot of it in my catalog. I go over to my keywords and select the keyword pertaining to my shot. The photos come up in library/grid mode which is fine. I see that either I have or have not a better photo than the one I am considering.

Needed:
Now here is the shortcut I need. I would like to return to the previous screen with the photo I was viewing without having to go back to the Folders in my catalog and retrace my steps to return to my original photo. Is there a "go back" key or technique I can use to return to my point of departure?

Thanks for any help.

Put the photo you want to come back to in the quick collection. Then when you find the other photo that you are looking for put that in the quick collection, then you can have both side by side. Collections are a copy that can later be removed without loosing the original. You might want to investigate the use of collections as the are a great way of putting photos that are from different files in one, temporary, place.

Useful tip - thanks, SodaPop!

If I understand the question correctly, the image you were originally viewing will be included in those displayed as containing the keyword you selected.
just select that image and click on 'D' to go the development module or 'E' to view the image in Library module.

No I am making a first cut through a series of pix from a new shoot - lets say birds. I come across one I'm not sure I should keep. I think I have better already catalogued. I want to look at all my catalogued images by going to a keyword display say, painted bunting. My photo under review is not in that collection because I have not yet added the keyword to it because I have not decided whether or not to keep it. I look at my existing collection and decide - I now want to return to where I was. How do I get back without have to navigate to the folder which contains my original image.

Hope this makes a little more sense. What I'm looking for essentially is a revert to previous location.

No I am making a first cut through a series of pix... (show quote)

I don't know of a way to do that but I've never tried that approach so there may be a way I'm unaware of.
Hope you find something.

If you are viewing the most recent set of photos that you have imported, then want to return to that group after viewing a filtered set from your catalog, select "previous import" under the Catalog heading in the Library mode. This will take you back to the most recently imported set of photos.

Hope I understood what you would like to accomplish.
