Do you think there is any chance of a camera that is smaller than its LCD?

aww come on your better than this to address your question no, the lcd is part of the camera therefore it cannot happen cell pones are pretty large and though the camera is a part of the whole you have to include it all so a cell phone is larger than a point and shoot just not a thick.

People keep wanting smaller cameras yet larger LCD so is there a time when the LCD is larger than the camera?

The cellphone or tablet can be purchased without a camera, so I would argue that the camera is just an accessory that uses the screen which it doesn't really require. The camera could simply store the pictures which would be displayed or offloaded by a program that is separate from the camera.

I think that you need to talk to Doctor Who.

Is this question for real? How can a camera be smaller than a sensor of the sensor is part of the camera?

And now the insult:

I think this a subject for Chris T...

Keep in mind that the sensor and the lcd are totally separate components. No reason the lcd can’t be made the size of a tv, that is, if you want to carry around a “55 inch lcd hooked to your camera body!

I just want to keep the record straight. I do mean the LCD or rather the display whether it's LCD or OLED doesn't matter and not the sensor. If the LCD is considered part of the camera then it can not be larger than the camera. However, I accept most of your answers as good answers 'cause I was just asking.
What prompted me to the question is that I saw that thread about camera with 4" LCD and I remembered when I was 5 and my sister who was 9 at the time took me to buy some sandwiches. She told the old man at the sandwich stand that she wanted more filling and less bread. The old man said how can the meat fit if more meat than bread. Any way I remember because he had the best sandwich I tasted.

Sure, a flexible screen could be rolled up when not in use.

The correct question is this: Will there ever be a camera bigger than Chris T's ego?

Good question but is he really referring to the sensor or the LCD on the back. The OP makes me wonder. Either way the camera cannot be smaller than its larger part.

Semantics is always the catch point.

I have in my hand an old Nikon D1x and it's a big camera but it has only a 2" LCD. Now we have much smaller cameras with 3.2" LCD. So if the trends continue at which point would they stop?

When there’s a paradigm shift to wearable eyeglasses that are monitors and cameras all in one, controlled by thought.

At some point, the only way they can make an LCD larger is to make the camera larger. Right now, space on back of most cameras is either buttons or screen, so LCD may not get any larger.

Wasn't that concept introduced in the sci-fi novel Dune by Frank Herbert with the Tleilaxu Eyes?

If you say so! I’m not a sci-fi reader.
