I am debating between the Oly 12-100 f4 and a 14-150 for a tour of Hawaii. I just wonder if it is too heavy and bulky. My original plan was to take the EM-5 II, with a 12-40 f2.8, 25 f1.8 and a 14-150. With the 12-100, I would leave all behind except the 25. I traveled to U.K. in 2103 with just a Canon 70D and a 18-135, and was pretty satisfied with the outcome. Camera did get heavy at times. And, no my budget won’t allow a system switch. It will be m 4/3. All considering the Panasonic 14-140.
Thanks

I have the Oly EM-1 MK II with the 12-100 f4 is my walk around lens. Compared to my prior setup (Nikon d5300 and 18-140 zoom) the Oly combo is just right in terms of weight. I also lived in Hawaii for many years. I suspect most of your activities will be outside, which means bright sun with little bits of clouds off and on. If that is the case then the 12-100 f4 should be more than adequate. The 25mm/f1.8 would also be good for those times where low light is your only option (e.g., in a museum, evening luau).

considering that the 12-40 and 75 is my goto everyday kit, then I would think that in Hawaii, where there is an abundance of light, the 12-100 would be great, with a faster 25mm.
Now if you are going on a helicopter tour, then something with a bit more reach than 100mm might be nice...perhaps a cheap $99 40-150mm kit lens.

I am debating between the Oly 12-100 f4 and a 14-1... (

I traveled Germany for 11 days on a bus tour with my 7-14mm f2.8 Pro lense and the 12-100mm f4 Pro lense. I changed out my lense once for a total on three pictures with the wide angle. I was able to handhold up to 4 seconds with the 12-100mm and my E-M1 mrII. There could be some shots for the 14-150mm but it will not be many. I personally think you could get away with just the 12-100mm and the 25mm.

And one other item: your combination of the E-M5 mrII and 12-100mm f4 Pro IS lense will be splashproof. When in Germany, I was shooting during two rain showers while others put their cameras away and was shooting in the wind, snow, and cold on top of Mount Zugspitze in the Alps. In Hawaii, not so much cold but there can be lots of rain. And the weight combo for you will be a little lighter than my combination. Yours will be an easy to carry combo with a proper neckstrap. Take a microcloth along to wipe off the raindrops off the front element.

What do you use the tele converter for?
Spent 10 days in Kauaii in December with omd1 mk2 and the 12-40mm f2.8 pro and only took it off the camera once to use a 40-150mm f4 for a few shots. 12-40 worked especially well during rainy days. Able to walk around with it all day without getting tired. (I'm 87 1/2 yrs young and switched from canon 6D)

I don’t think the tc will accomodate the 12-100 f4 pro lens. It does not fit my copy of that lens on the Oly E-M1 MkII.
