Was standing up straight it's normal pose? My son had a pet duck that stood that way, different colors though, we were told it was an Indian Runner.

I can't find it in the Sibley Guide to Birds, nor on the Internet. I suspect it's a domestic, and maybe a hybrid.

It has the mallard drake curl in the tail. I suspect it is a mixed breed, we have a huge variety of looks among the ducks at the local park. Some close to this look, but no exact matches. Mallards seem to have never met another duck they won't breed with.
