I am new here. Years ago worked in a camera dept. Where I got to play around with different cameras (film). Enjoyed it and purchased a Canon AE-1. Used it for hobby at best, photos of kids etc.
Wanna get back into it as I wanna start doing some sports photography of my son, take some advertising shots of my landscaping jobs etc. Just purchased a nikon D70S. Didnt wanna invest a lot until I see how this pans out. Have some professinal ideas but wanna get a good grip on what I am doing first.
Right now just trying to get a basic understanding of what I am working with.

I too am new here. I came from a film background also, but had limited experience years ago with a D50. I liked the camera and bought some nice glass for it. Unfortunately that glass is not completely compatible with my new d3400. All that aside, I am LOVING using the manual programs on my new rig and relearning all the stuff that I thought was so cumbersome in the "film days". I hope you get as much enjoyment out of your learning curve as I am getting out of mine.

Yes, it is slow but I am learning, I now feel I understand Manual exposure, the exposure triangle, now want to learn more about "Flash Photography", especially "Off Camera" Flash Photography, with triggers, controllers. Also, Flash modifiers, umbrellas, Softboxes. So we can learn together right here at UHH, hopefully our fellow UHH Photographer's will provide their experience and knowledge for us to learn as much as possible.
I am interested in "On Location Portrait Photography", in homes, Parks, of Families, Senior Graduation, etc.
