The little girl on the right is my granddaughter Ruby. The guy on the left is her dad Andy.
Andy died when she was but three. Using a simple layer I brought them back together, so to speak.
When I showed her the photo she looked up at me, smiled and with tears in her little eyes simply said, " Thank you Grandpa

You did a great job, but more importantly you did something really great for a little girl. God Bless you and Ruby.

I’m sure she loved it! The only suggestion I can think of - add a little bit of drop shadow to the right of his face (falling on her) to make him look less pasted on.

Thank you, Stan but my knowledge of PS is quite limited.

Do a search for Drop Shadow Photoshop Tutorial, if you want to play. It doesn’t sound too hard. Or, you could try a soft brush and do some burning in around his edge.

A simple fix to make the pasted image look like it isn't pasted in is, in PS select the pasted in image (layer), then click on the layer tab and at the bottom of the list, click Matting then select defringe and select 2 pixels then click ok. That should make the pasted in image look more natural and not so sharp around the edges.
