Nikon and Apple

I have been using Apple's "Photos" app for my PP. The program handled the raw and jpeg files from my D650 without any problem. My new d850 is a different matter. The jpegs are recognized but the raw files are not. Apparently Apple and Nikon are not speaking to each other, at least so far, as my queries to both companies have not produced any solution. Does anyone have a sense of when the "Photos" app might be updated to deal with the d850 raw format?
Thank you for your help and thoughts.

D650?? Maybe D610, or even D750?
Updating the software is the job of the software developer. If Apple has not updated their program yet you will just have to wait until they do, and that may take time given their track record in the past. Good luck.

If you have an 850, a lot of the software folks are behind the curve and yet to develop, or release upgrades to work with new cameras.

You can convert your raw files using Adobe DNG converter and import the DNG files to photos. It is simple to use although it is an extra step.

I’ve found some references saying D850 Raw L files are supported as of December 19. Any chance you’re using a smaller image size?

Thanks for the tip. The link is correct and only the large raw files are recognized. (the jpeg- fine files have always been recognized) My current set up is---primary slot is XQD set to raw--secondary SD slot is set to raw+jpeg---image quality is raw+jpeg fine*---image size is large for raw and jpeg---compression is lossless---and bit depth is 14 bit. This worked and puts all the raw files on the XQD card and the jpeg on the SD card. Both cards were recognized by the computer and I was able to import the files into "photos" as usual.
Thank you again for the help.
