I think comparing the very very few exceptions to all the thousands of wonderful sessions done with Trash the Dress gives a very false impression and does a great disservice to those who know what they are doing. I've done many dozens of these and all had a great time creating some awesome pictures. I've not had a single mishap and don't know of anyone who does this who has. I don't use fire or have the bride plunge off cliffs. I've included flower girls, too and they loved it all dressed up including dress shoes. My clients always wear complete outfits. Anything else is cheating. They all get soaked and/or muddy and nothing got ruined. So if you don't approve that's your business. This genre won't be any less popular for it.
I'll post more picks so you can see what this usually looks like. But don't be calling people stupid because they want to step out of the box for once. If you want to stay in yours please feel free to do so.

If you ask for opinions, seems to me you should except the responses graciously - - if you snipe at the people who tell you something you don't want to hear, then it seems that your request for opinions wasn't sincere in the first place.

We need to keep in mind that the safety of our clients is paramount. Also that we are generalizing so that the greatest number of the readers can spread their wings appropriately. "Those who know what they are doing" is drowned out by "I've not had a single mishap and don't know of anyone who does this who has". Are you suggesting that anyone can do it? "I don't use fire or have the bride plunge off cliffs"? Don't think so.

Anything is workable as long as it is done right. Let's keep the comparisons to the bushel of oranges. And that includes all of us.

OK. Safety is paramount. I take great care when I do these shoots. They are not for everybody but I sure like doing them and the pictures that follow. The creative possibilities seem endless to me.

Military jumps are not subject to recommended sports jump guidelines. Years ago, as a show for a visiting military VIP, a night jump was ordered. Full gear at 1000 ft from C130s using static lines. Several paratroop ended up with foot injuries.
