I wanted the 50% moon but it set at 49%
Not great shots but not shabby either.
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas day and honored whatever you believe in.
Peace
Jim

Great shots Jim, looks like wall mounting would be possible and attractive... but you prolly already have a bunch up.

Nice shot of the Moon Jim!
We were both lookin at it last night. Instead of thinking of it as half full, I was looking and thinking First Quarter.
So I have learned that much.

Christmas came out great here. I hope the same there.

Thank you.
These were both shot through a 6" Schmidt Cassegrain telescope afocally.
I used a t-mount with a snout adapter directly to the diagonal.
f:/10 fixed
ISO 100
1/40th second
Image orientation had to be corrected in Photoshop to correct for the SCT image flip.

The IR modified shot was the same except for exposure time.
1/50th second.

Glad you liked the shots.

Thanks Brian,
I'm further South so I think I was closer. ( Moon is further South in the sky.. Puts me on the bulge..)

Thank you Sonny.
We had a nice quiet Christmas at home with all the kids in for dinner.
Got more wood working toys so if the weather doesn't like me, I can still spin wood.

Sorry Chazz, I skipped right over you..
Thank you very much.
Right now I mainly have solar shots and a few balloon shots hanging.
The closest thing that I have to a moon shot is a collage of eclipse photos both solar and lunar.
Not a single sharp moon.
I may need to remedy that.

You're way down South.
My dad was from Ringgold and my cousins still live in Monroe and Shreveport.
Been a few years since I have been back.

Good!
Betty and I gave each other a deep freezer so we could store more. Good thing.... Just the one in the fridge was a PITA.
We draw names at Thanksgiving for our immediate family members, Danny got my name.
He asked Betty what to get for me. She told him anything to do with making Jerky.
So he got me a Presto Dehydrator. The digital one. It's the same one his other daughter's boyfriend has, and he makes great Jerky with it.
Now I make great jerky, too. I was looking at dehydrators to complement my smoker I do Salmon with. Mostly just wishful thinking. Quite a great surprise for me, spot on!

There was some fruit left over from our Brunch we host on Christmas Day (One of those Costco sized trays). So I had little Ava (4) help me in the kitchen after the hubbub quieted down.
I sliced, and she put the pieces on the trays. And we made some dried melon and strawberry chips as the first load. And the next day Grandpa had to try making fruit roll-ups.
Now, I've used up the two 1 Lb chubs of lean Hamburger from the freezer, and have 3.48 Lbs. of Sirloin roast marinating in the Fridge to dehydrate today...
I think I need a cow.... this stuff is going as fast as I make it. I've settled on what the carnivores like now, so time to make some bulk.
Tariyaki for Grandma; peppery hot for most everybody else. Makin Jerky yesterday afternoon.

Sonny the strip massager...

You’re making and cutting food.
I’m busy cutting wood.
My wife got me the gauges for a weather station for Christmas.
Here is the wall hanger in Bavarian Rosewood.
Turned out pretty nice.
