As I've said before, you're the bird man, Regis.

I'm lucky to live in an area with a lot of bird-life. I do photograph all kinds of wildlife, but the concentration is on the birds. No Zoos around here. All natural wildlife.

Thank you very much, DebAnn.

Great to hear you’ve bounced back, Regis! Wonderful shot.

This photo was taken before I got sick, so I have missed out on 2 weeks worth of Bald Eagle photos. This bad flu germ and
a chance of getting pneumonia has kept me indoors for awhile. But, I still have some Eagle photos from more than
2 weeks ago which I haven't posted yet.

Thank you very much, Einreb92.

I thank you very much, Doc. The Eagle probably looks that way after his dive into the
cold lake water trying to catch a fish.

Great work again, Regis. I'm a fan of your work. It shows you have the knowledge of the birds and their behavior to get close enough to get shots like this. I assume you go to the same places often enough that the birds have become familiar with you. If you care to comment I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

I do go to specific areas and trees where I know there will be at least one Bald Eagle perching and wait for more Eagles to show-up. Because of the tree locations, I can get within
125 feet (laser rangefinder measurement) of the Eagles. This is very close compared to most other Bald Eagle locations. But, the Eagles are starting to leave for better locations.
I can look at a Bald Eagle and tell you if it's a male or female or approximately old it is. Their diet is at least 90% fish so they are found mostly near lakes and rivers. Stay away at least 100 feet
from them for safety plus you will scare them off if you get closer than that. The immature Bald Eagle will stay close to it's parents until they reach 4-5 years of age.

Thank you very much, 10MPlayer.

You know how some guys always look like they are smiling? I'm thinking of golfers, Phil Mickelson and Charley Hoffman. Or the great Denver quarterback John Elway. It's just something about the configuration of these guys faces that makes them seem very welcoming and friendly.

The poor American bald eagle suffers from the opposite situation. No matter how he may be feeling about his day, he always looks pissed off. He may have had a great day, caught a 10 pound salmon that he took home to share with the old lady and the kids. The whole family was happy with him and he felt great about himself for being a good provider. But that face! No matter what he does he projects this angry, sullen image to the world. In the words of the President, "Sad"!

That Bald Eagle's face also projects fierceness and determination to get food for him or her and a young family. Many Eagles live in Alaska and have to
be strong to survive the elements. From my observations, the Bald Eagles will catch more fish than the Osprey. The Osprey will not want to pick a fight with
a Bald Eagle. I have seen many times the Bald Eagles go after the Osprey. carrying a fish, making the Osprey drop the fish and catching it in mid-air.
These great birds (Bald Eagles) are to be admired.

Interesting Regis. A friend of mine was cutting her grass when a fish hit her in the head. She didn't see what kind of bird, but we have Osprey and Bald Eagles here.
