Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle

i have been re visiting some old Photos , this Eagle is just so Beautiful i thought i would share .. canon 7d sigma 150-500 lens ....... The Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle one of the worlds larger Eagles , bigger than the little American Bald Eagle that eats little Fish .... Ours can take on Kangaroos and is listed as the only Eagle in the World known to attack hand gliders ..And is one of the few Eagles known to work with others to bring down large Prey lol lol lol

Yes CanonShot , we dont have a good record in Australia with one third of all Australian wildlife listed as vulnerable or Endangered ... The Wedge tailed Eagle is listed Endangered in Tasmania, with the National status as Endangered ... which is a little strange as most states are now showing secure ... The Endangered Tasmanian Eagle is the largest sub species .. bigger than the main land eagle

Thank you for the information, gawler. Quite interesting. I suspect sheep ranchers need to be aware of those "big boys".

BTW, I was photographing our little bald eagles at a place called Conowingo Dam in Maryland yesterday. They are quite adept at fishing, but certainly wouldn't take on a roo.

..... Even our sea eagles that eat Fish dont mind taking sea gulls , some one said it was because sea gulls taste like Frys lol lol ... got this shot a week back ... White Bellied sea Eagle
