Has anyone bought this new Liilesy monopod? https://www.liilesy.com/products/dslr-monopod-fluid-pan-head

Looks cool I have nothing to do with this product just came across it and was looking for comments.

Do not use a monopod, it gets in my way and effects my free wheeling style of shooting.

It does have nice feet though. If nothing else, to steady it. It looks short somehow.

Personal style I guess but having a monopod with feet would distract from practical use. I only use one for extra stability when moving around and would never leave my camera standing stationary on such a small base. That said, there are likely lots real uses for this style.

I was looking for a monopod a couple of months back and did considerable research. I found that this type (several companies make them) with the feet like that are ok for indoor photography in a limited environment but not outdoors. Reviewers had horror stories about destroying their cameras by leaving them standing without holding them for only a second or two and it falling because of uneven ground, wind, someone else slightly touching it, the dog or cat knocking it over, etc. Never leave your camera standing on it without holding it unless you are in a very controlled environment. It would probably be better to get one without the feet so that you would never be tempted to use them.

ddub, I happened to see the same short video on Facebook about this monopod, and thought it might be a great thing. When I visited the liilsey site, the photo of the pod looked different from the one in the movie, but then I couldn't find the movie again, so I'm not sure. In general, I have found that things that are advertised on Facebook can be found elsewhere for much cheaper, but I couldn't find the same pod anywhere. I did like the design of easy extension, and the novel camera release. The price looked good, but made me question the quality. But I couldn't find any reviews. I really would like to have a monopod with legs. I know there are many others to choose from.

Liilsey is a marketing product production company they sell all kind of things what ever makes them money most off what they sell is just stuff! It’s not real high quality or what I would call high quality photo products. I would not be surprised if you could get parts for repair in six to a year for that monopod. If you want a monopod buy it from a real camera store.

I have a Manfrotto which I like very much. I do like the idea of a pan head though. Occasionally, I find myself doing some crazy antics with the Manfrotto trying to position the camera at the right angle for the shot.

Only expands to 4 feet 10 and one half inches. Not for this 6 footer!

For your 2X2 monopod, do you use pressure-treated or just raw stock? Have you figured out how to telescope it?

The monopod has a "considerate wrist rope" but I would worry about the "bear weight" of 3 kg, 6 1/2 pounds.

Looks pretty cool.
I like the small feet - assuming they retract inside and it can be used as a conventional monopod

I assume you are talking about me... I would possibly go pressure treated if you are going to mainly use in outdoors especially in water. But PT will add some weight until it dries out which should only be a few months at most. I have not fully dealt with the telescope issue. Not a problem is you want to use it as a walking stick I figure. For travel you can have it cut it to shorter lengths and I will join the lengths using Festool Dominos...quite strong for joining and anti test too. I will be offering these at a pre Christmas price of $99.95 with free shipping. Maximum length I can ship is 100" These also make a great weapon for fighting off thugs, critters, angry spouses and significant others as well. Order now for quickest delivery...

Best,
Todd Ferguson

One's digital. The other one is not. It's monologue.

The antonym of digital is analog, not monologue. Dialogue and monologue are antonyms.
