End-cap for teleconverter

I purchased a teleconverter that screws on to the front of my lens. The teleconverter has a 55mm thread, and my lens has a 49mm thread, so I purchased a converter ring to go in-between.

Everything works perfectly, except that if I leave the thread conversion ring on the lens, I can't use the slip-on end cap that came with the teleconverter, and fits right over the threads.

I know I can leave the conversion ring on the lens & get a 55mm cap, but then I won't be able to use the lens hood.

I am having trouble finding the right kind of cap - the ones I see are all front caps that grab on to the inner threads. The rear caps all seem to be designed for the manufacturers' bayonet mounts. What I need is a cap that slides over the outer threads.

Is there a name for this thing?
