Jerry,
I think you may be causing me to do some reading today. I want to find out if the feed from DJI to China is a real thing or an internet rumor/legend.
If Google Earth is not sufficient for the Chinese, I guess they deserve feeds from a million or so drones.
It is true that I am hoping for a DJI Magix Pro to be under the tree. As a matter of fact, there is a box about that size as I write!!

Interesting, I had heard rumors about the China connection but wasn't sure. I have a P3P and love it. I won't quit using it as China has access, and so much more, to what I record anyway. To much fun and nice video
Easier than I thought. Google can find anything!
In August was a document from US Customs and Immigration Enforcement (Homeland Security) that stirred up the issue. Apparently, the concern is not consumer use of the small DJI drones. The issue is where government agencies and large companies are using commercial models for mapping, surveying and security. A worst case might be where a contractor building a military project is using a drone for detailed security and documentation of the project.

I wonder how its going with Russian Kaspersky virus software on 400 million computers? The Russians probably know more about the USA than the Chinese!
Is it just me or do others think that the whole China spying with drones thing is silly.
Not the possibility that they are doing it but the idea that they would get anything useful from doing it.
Drones are not allowed to fly over anything even remotely sensitive like airports, military bases, etc.
What could they get that could not be found on Google maps and street view?

It is silly for the consumer drones like the DJI Mavic Pro that I want. There is nothing I would take videos of that would be of use to China. The concept is less silly after I read the articles because the commercial drones that are only a few thousand more than the consumer drones can be set up to do more serious work.
The US Army was buying DJI drones for something. They can fly over the important stuff!
Hope your dream comes true. I love mine.
