The gulls at Brooms Head were unusually nervous yesterday & would not settle down. They would circle & land, but after a few seconds, would take off en masse & repeat the cycle. I could not see a hawk/eagle in the vicinity. Downloading is recommended.

Nice, Earl. I like photographing seagulls. They aren't particularly shy and often fly slow and hover in the wind.

These are usually very 'tame' & kids can normally walk to within a few yards of them--I have never seen them so flighty. Earl.

I had the same experience on one of Oregon's beaches. I was told later it was something in the air. And the weather did change.

Great set of shots. I suspect the flightiness is a feeding frenzy on sand creatures which are only visible as the wave retreats. Gulls are very competitive/greedy me first personalities. Fun to watch. Thanks for sharing this set.
