Does anyone on the Forum have experience with online printing companies for small quantities of postcards (25 - 50)? I would like to find a possibility for doing 5 - 7 different images - some photos, some paintings - on card stock. Thanks in advance for any replies!

I've used VistaPrint in the past. Worked fine. You can probably find cheaper, although the VP website is easy to use with lots of options.

I just did that with a couple of photos. I put them on a memory stick and brought them to Staples and had them print a couple of samples for my review BEFORE I committed to have them do the work. I was really pleased with the quality of the printouts but also the cost. They were very reasonable as well as quick. I had two copies of the each photo on a 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of heavy paper which They cut in two and I just folded in half to include a note on the inside. People really appreciate getting a card with a photo that you took. Be sure your name is on the photo somewhere because it's an extra cost if Staples does it and it will take longer to get your cards. Good Luck!

Yes, Vistaprint is good for all sorts of printing, even clothing.

You can buy blank postcards and print them yourself. I did that a while back, but with words, not pictrues.

I have also used VistaPrint with good success. I had notecards printed. They were very high quality.

I too used Vista Prints in the past as well but you get what you get where as when I used Staples and I had them darken the printing after seeing the initial sample printout which I could not have been able to do otherwise. It sounds like I'm pushing Staples but believe me I was really surprised at their quality. A lot of outside printing has improved. Costco has just built a new store in our area and they have the latest in photographic printing equipment. Just something to consider if you do not do your own printing.

My wife was satisfied with Shutterfly. They were our picture greeting cards.

Do you have a good excuse for not printing your own? I have been doing greeting cards (size 5x7...for my horse customers) both, postcard type and folded cards... and both, photos and prints of ones I hand painted, for 30 years and sold them in all 50 states and 5 other countries. I paint them large, shrink, add a verse and a signature if wanted, cut them to size, fold, pack with envelopes and ship. (Thousands every year)...I'll bet you can manage 25-50.

I have used Staples, FedEx Express and Office Max for printing. So far I like FedEx Express best, when printed on their cardstock. However my local one tends to print too dark, so I have to ask them to lighten the image.

When I print Post Cards, or Greeting Cards, it's normally low quantity. If I have the time, and it's a smaller quantity, I'll make them myself using Red River Paper and my Epson P800. For larger, press runs, I have used several printers. I'm familiar with Vistaprint (business cards) and may just give them a try the next time.

I like to print my own, but for large batch, depending on what printer you have, I can say the cost of the ink can be prohibitive. And you have a business which makes you invested in the process and thus account for the costs. My printer uses a lot of ink and I like to buy the xtra ink cartridges and to buy the whole colors at one time costs $100.00. That is a lot of money. The paper would add a lot to the cost and it takes time to print. For cost, time and getting a professional touch at a lesser cost I think is the way to go.
