Adding Music to VideoStudio 10 Pro

I like the music choices in VideoStudio 10 Pro (VSP) but I can't determine another link to download music that will work on VSP 10. If there is another link outside of VSP, I'm wondering if downloading the music will sync with VSP 10--as their music will? I have requested help from tech in VSP 10 to no avail. If fact, overall, I have been disappointed with help from tech at VSP 10.

In the video editor I use, you bring in whatever music clip you want from anywhere the same way as a video clip. Then you put it on an audio track below the video track. Could it be the same?

I use Proshow Gold. Any mp3 file my be added to my shows. You may download youtube audio tracks and save them as mp3 files. Another source (very inexpensive) is www.mp3million.com or rip any of your CD's.
That converts them to mp3. I have 50,000 mp3 files. What music do you want for your show? If I have it, I'll share it with you via my Dropbox.

It seems as though you are referring to the auto music function in Video Studio. With auto music, you can create background music from the available canned music clips that is customized to the length of the video file. The customization avoids any noticeable starts/stops in the music over the entire duration of the clip. A plugin to Video Studio (Scorefitter) seems to be what accomplishes this function. I also have Pinnacle Studio and it uses the same plugin. Pinnacle Studio store lists a small number of scorefitter music clip addons available for purchase. However, I believe that all of that music is already included as part of Video Studio Ultimate (its also not clear if you could purchase the Pinnacle Studio music addon and get it to work within Video Studio).

You can always add your own background music to the music track on the timeline, but don't have get a seamless music track exactly customized to a desired duration that way. Getting royalty music can be expensive. Also, there are often "personal use only" restrictions. If you post a video online that includes music having such restrictions, you might find that your video gets deleted by the host for license violations.

I haven't used it, but know of one similar auto music generation program that is independent of video studio (there are probably several). This one provides music for purchase via soundsound.com. There is also an available standalone program - SonicFire Pro - via that website. That program can be used to create customized lengths of music from the purchased music clips.

Mark,

Thanks for your immediate and helpful advice. The www.mp3million.com sounds like a link I need to investigate. I'm not certain there is a way to preview the music before downloading it; however, will definitely check it out. Will the music downloads "auto regulate" like they will with the music that comes with VS 10? If so, you have provided me with a simple fix. I use MP3 music for my MP3 player, every other day, during my exercise routines. Makes a world of difference.

Yes, each tune has a shortened file for listening. I've been using mp3million for years. One must use a CC and deposit a small amount. I also download audio files from youtub. Let me know if you would like to learn how. It's free and easy. (PM me).
