Navy pilots are the best in the world , so no criticism from me . But that pilot will pay ! LOL
I thought you were hoping Navy would beat Notre Dame this afternoon.
Judging by the on line photo, the offended mom needed a very dirty mind and a strong desire to be offended.
Ten years ago, I was in the company of a retired Navy F-14 Tomcat Pilot at a Veterans Event. I asked him if Navy fighter pilots are the best. He was humble and hesitant at first. But, later said, yes. That ain't bragging, that's a fact.

My boyfriends brother is an F-18 pilot. I'll have to see what he knows about this.
You are always right in the middle of "stuff", Sam!!

Totally agree that Navy pilots are "the best in the world" and I can attest to that after having been a Navy Aircrewman for almost 17 years. FLY NAVY.

In general, I would agree with you BUT there were exceptions. Had one PPC that the entire crew refused to fly with.

While this event does demonstrate the skill of the pilot, it also points out his lack of common sense and good judgement. I suspect his career is over.

Just like anything else, if a person (in this case the military) is held to higher standards. Personally, I thought it was kinda funny but that pilot definitely should have known better.
He was a good pilot to do all of that....lol
So, ending the career of an obviously skilled pilot over a momentary lapse in judgement is good military planning? Hopefully we want be sitting someday soon going "we could have accomplished that mission with one more good pilot". It is the military not church, and we as a nation need to stop being offended by everything and particularly need a sense of humor. Some punishment MAY be warranted but the punishment should fit the crime. Much ado 'bout nothing! IMHO.

While he may never make Captain, I doubt his career is over. By this time the Navy has spent hundreds of thousands training this pilot - - maybe millions. You DON'T throw away the Jet just because it has a flat tire. So - - his CO will chew him a new one, and he'll spend a few months 'peeling potatoes' - - but my bet is he'll keep on flying.
