Went out yesterday looking to shoot something. Went about 30 miles and found this Dancehall & Saloon built in 1897. As I started taking picture several motor cycles started showing up. I found out it was a local group of riders headed up by the Saloon's owner & husband. The Harley pictured here was driven by the wife.
I sat on the ground to take this picture. My intent was to have this picture with the bike in focus and the rest with Bokeh. I shot with f/2.8. Didn't quite work out as expected.
Maybe you didn't get the bike you wanted, but I still like the final results. Nice angle and composition.

Nice capture Jim !!! Excellent composition, IMO. I love the look of the bike and the background fits the scene very well. Not sure if you are aware, but you CAN create your own bokeh/blur within Photoshop.

I love the spelling police. I wrote bokeh and it was changed to bike.
Excellent shot. The saloon is so interesting that I wouldn't want it more blurred. Love that the colors of the building coordinate so well with the bike.
I think it's super! The sheriff's star in the sign, the cactus, the slight angle of the bike's front wheel, the shadow it casts, your perspective, the two-dimensional feel of the building vs. the substantial bulk of the bike - a visually rich and enjoyable photo!
I want to thank everyone for the favorable comments. Sometimes it is a surprise the photos people like and not like. This one was a big surprise.
Thanks again
Jim
Jim, this is a really great shot! It may not be what you were thinking, but my wheels are grinding and OMG, the fun I could have with that photo!

If you want to play with it go ahead Don. I was going to use this for the challenge but I didn't think people could do enough with it. If you do I will forward it to the owner of the bike. I have her email.

I could wait for the challenge, it won’t change my idea. I’ll just work on it and not post it until you put it up. I’d be interested in seeing what others might do with it. It’s up to you.
A great image. Can I express why I think so? NO, never can, but LInda summed it up very concisely for me.
This is a wonderful shot. I think more blur in the background would diminish the image.
This is a beauty. The subject and environment are interesting, but there is a technical aspect to this shot that I really like. It is a wide angle shot that doesn't look like one. (Info on the photo says 31mm focal length.) The walls are straight up and down. Very nicely done.
In download this is a great shot. I LOVE the name of the dancehall. (I wonder why...)
I think the owner of that bike would LOVE that pic just as you took it. I know I would, excellent!
