I am not a "Photoshopper" so large object removal is not easy for me. I use LightRoom and can work my way around it fairly well, but removing the background leaf in the water in this image is proving to be a challenge for me. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I could accomplish this removal? Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have! Sorry...the title should say LEAF, not leave....

My method, which I'm sure any halfway competent "photoshopper" will scoff at, is to copy and paste bits of background containing the color I want. It's tedious, it's slow, but I usually can get a result I like. It is possible to replace one pixel at a time using the pencil tool if you want to be that fussy. Full disclosure, I use Microsoft Paint because I haven't been able to teach myself how to use any of the many better programs available.

There are many ways. I don't use LR but I suspect a similar function is there. In Affinity, the Healing Brush or the Inpainting brush would work. Do a selection or the flower petals first, then invert it so the background is selected. Then you can use the Healing tools or another.

Not with Lightroom, it is not designed for this type of correction. One of the easiest programs is Snapheal by MacPhun/Skylum but I don't know if they have a PC version yet. If you know Photoshop you could do the correction in that. There are many other programs, too. In any case, it's a matter of learning the software.

Lightroom will yield undesirable results in this effort. A careful selection in PS, then using content-aware fill would likely do the job.

Thank you for the reply brucewells. I do not have PhotoShop and wouldn't know how to use it if I did! Maybe someone else can take a stab at it. Nothing in LightRoom seems to be practical for this edit.

I took a look at Snapheal. It looks like a handy tool, but I cannot seem to find out if it is available as a plugin for LightRoom 6.1.1 native running on my computer (non-CC). They mention this ability for CC, though.

For what it’s worth, I’d leave it there. I think it lends itself to the image, but we each see things differently.

That is definitely one approach worth considering. I could possibly tone it down a bit to make it less obvious and distracting. Thank you!

Wow! Perfect! Would you consider downloading your edited image so I can print one? My wife wants a copy of this matted and framed in our bathroom (which is where most of my photos belong! :) ) If not, I understand. Did you use PhotoShop for this?

I only used the thumbnail for the "exercise". But it was fairly quick masking job. I'm happy to do the full size for you. Gives me something to do on a dreary day.
