Because of climate change, good bugs are dying off, and bad bugs are surviving. It's just not cold enough.

Oh, Oh,...you said Climate Change.

The conservatives are going to be all over you for saying that.

I considered that, but they can argue with the bugs that aren't dying.

Everything related to climate change is a crises. If we don't make the government fix it right now, the world will end tomorrow.

So, cold climates kill off bad bugs.
Guess the mosquitos up on the tundra haven't got the message.

Half of the birds found only in Hawaii (i.e. endemic to Hawaii's Big Island) have become extinct in the last 40 years due to avian malaria carried by mosquitos which now are able to complete their life cycles further up the mountain (Mauna Kea) where the birds used to live free of avian malaria because the mosquitos here aren't cold adapted like in the tundra.

Of the 16 endemic bird species living here 40 years ago only 8 have survived and those have dwindled greatly in numbers and then only above 4500 feet where the mosquitos haven't yet reached... in the case of one bird species there are only 2 or 3 mating pairs left.

Climate change is real. It is not a Chinese hoax. The science is clear. We are near a tipping point into a positive feed back cycle which will get kicked off by the acceleration of methane release into the atmosphere which will accelerate further methane clathrate melting etc.

Already studies are showing accelerating methane release from melting tundra in Asia and North America. Methane is roughly 10 times more effective than is CO2 at trapping heat in the lower atmosphere so no point in worrying about "bringing good paying jobs back to the clean coal industry." The "war on coal" (and other fossil fuels) came too late.

Time to get your bird and wildlife pictures now cuz most won't be there 20 years from now. This is not a political statement. It's reality.
