Some Old Work Pics

About 14 years ago after kind of retiring, I was approached by several companies to come on board, or at least be a consultant to develop their quality management systems to support ISO, AS9100 (aerospace) and UL. During that time, I took thousands of photographs to document their operations and some just for fun. I hope you will indulge me if I share several pics I recently found in some old back up files. They paid me well, but I would have done most of it for free. For me, it was just fun.
I like the second one with the shinny cats the best. I'm a cat person, so I tend to favor cat photos.

Hi Tikva,
I too like the cat "spinner". Spinners are more "high tech" than they look. They are laser cut, and if you look closely, the cut is a bit wider at each termination point to allow complete "power coating" coverage to prevent rusting over time. I have had one in my backyard garden for years with absolutely evidence of rust.
Thank you so much for your comments.

I have you know, Gary... I own that cat wind spinner, plus a hummingbird and pineapple!! That had to fun taking these shots and even more fun working there... a long time ago, I was very involved in wood working and used my scroll saw all the time, love things like that!!
Thanks for sharing!!

Angela, I am so happy you like the spinners. I am so lucky that I thoroughly enjoyed every job I had from working at an amusement park and lumber mills while going to school, to engineering and quality management for a fortune 500 company plus several other high tech companies and never moved away from my little home town in North Idaho. The last 12-13 years as a quality management systems consultant for some of the nicest companies and their owners. The last company produced a lot of great products from spinners to medical and aerospace stuff.
I always enjoyed woodworking, but never had a scroll saw. My daughter also had an interest in woodworking, so I bought her a few things including a scroll saw.
Thank you for your comments.

You lead a full and interesting life.... and nice to hear your daughter is interested in woodworking!!! I remember asking Santa to bring me a belt sander, drill press, jig saw and anything to do with wood!! I was very addicted and would have my kids go dumpster diving for wood at carpentry shops near me!! lol... now I'm addicted to photography and a much healthier hobby... I was breathing in too much saw dust working in the garage!!

We take so much for granted. Nice getting a glimpse of what is behind the scenes.

Bill, thank you for your observations and comments. The photos posted are truly a tiny glimpse into only one custom manufacturing operation. There is a lot more to see. My focus was to ensure that quality processes are compliant and certified to ISO, AS9100 (international aerospace) and UL.
Thank you so much for checking in.

Hi Manglesphoto,
Thank you for checking out a few of my work pics. The photos were taken during the last phase of my work life. During that period, I consulted with a very high tech "metal ejection molder" (MEM) and a precision custom sheet metal fabricator. It was so much fun, I would have probably have most of it for free; well I actually did at times.
Thank you so much.
