Yes the original version, military issue with canvas top and doors and or open top.

That's a CJ-3B, likely mid 1950's model. I had a 1954 with a 2000cc Ford engine in it that I raced back in the 1980's. Fun rig.
I was about 10. My uncle bought a surplus Navy jeep for his hobby farm. My cousin and I were allowed to drive it all over the dirt roads and fields as long as we kept it in low range and 1st gear. The floor boards had rust holes. You could see the ground! Fond memories.
I drove one for a short time as a patrol car on Guam in the 50s. The speed limit was 45 mph, and my top speed was 45. Needless to say, pursuit was futile. Should have rammed them as they went by.

Yes, I drove one when I was on guard duty driving the Officer Of The day. It was fun to drive on base at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

I had a 1944 and a 1969. That looks like one from the 1950s.
My uncle had a WWII surplus Army jeep that I got to drive on the off road desert area areound Barstow CA. My daughter now has a Wrangler Rincon she drives everywhere she can find a challenge. Her license plate frame has the words upside down when properly installed. It says: "IF YOU CAN READ THIS, TURN ME OVER"
That's a funny license plate!

I rode in one when I pulled shore patrol duty while my ship was in Norfolk Va. That's was in the early 50s.
Sadly, it no longer exists.

To bad, that 3B could have been restored, it was one of the scarcer flat fenders, only made about 3 years, the ugly Koenig cab could have gone to the crusher and left the thousand dollar Jeep to go to a restorer!
