What I can't understand is, why so many people bought the book after so many people slated it!!

Always look at things in the reverse direction. Realize that women often seduce men, via perfumes, make up and shapely clothing. The photographers in question provide them with a more direct opportunity vs the normal setting. Remember, seduction is not the same as rape. It is a dangerous game especially in our modern accusation world.

Exactly what did Prez Bush Sr. do that he now apologizes for? What? 50 years ago. The sex game was vastly different 50 years ago. We of course know about Prez T by his own words... OK gals what did he do when?

In the 1980.. the woman's liberation decade, women would invite a man over to fix something like a cabinet hinge and then proceed from there to take advantage of a poor defenseless man multi time before rewarding him with Coffee, toast and an omelette that next morning.

Haven't read the book, will not be buying it. At almost 82, well, what, shall a try seducing a young gal in her 70s by inviting her over for photography?

I didn't say that distribution couldn't be restricted. Amazon has that legal option. I may be naive, but I still believe placing this sort of garbage in the sunlight of public disapproval works better than forcing it underground.

You did, and this forum includes, presumably, some of the target audience. In a free society, everyone makes their own decisions and is held accountable for them. Writing, Publishing, Selling, Distributing, Reading and Buying and OPINING are all acts of free will. Exercise them according to your values and account for them as your conscience dictates.

I recall living in Leesburg FL, that the owner of the Video store told me that the "adult" section made over half his business. In that town there was a church on just about every corner.... humm after sunday service lets get a 6 pack and a porno movie must have been the order of the day!! Sin, Less He Shall Have Died In vain

After clicking on the OP's provided link, I had a quick look around and subsequently discovered that this Goldmund individual has a couple of other "books" out, both of them dedicated to what he seems to think is his main purpose in life: getting laid. The one is called "The art of the one night stand", and the other "Go forth: A journey south", apparently a book-length listing of all his conquests south of the border. Amazon offers a look inside at a few paragraphs of each book. This is from the introduction to the camera book: "The camera is a simple tool (all you really have to do is press a button), and anyone can do it.....I will provide a detailed script you can follow. One that has gotten me laid many times over....."

Anybody that would drop 10 hard-earned dollars hoping to learn something from this bozo frankly deserves to lose their money. And I'm with the majority on this thread: Don't ban it--just don't buy it.

Yeah that's the ticket. Let's start banning books because we find the subject repulsive!! Imagine the inconvenient books we can get rid of. The bible for instance, many people dislike it. And it is the cause of so much social friction, and the Koran too. And while were at it how about getting rid of political opinions we don't agree with (already in process). And we should start prosecuting people for thought crimes. If someone talks about writing a book like that they obviously have been thinking about it. Throw them in jail!! We can include politically incorrect opinion too! How much simpler life will be when we all think exactly alike.

If you haven't figured it out the paragraph above was satire.

Ok the subject is repulsive and the author is a cad. So vote with your $. Don't buy the book. If nobody buys it he will never write another book with that publisher. You can also express your displeasure to the publisher. They care about what customers think. Both are effective and neither are destructive to a free society.

HOW TO SEDUCE WOMEN THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

I ran across this book title yesterday, and I am going to write Amazon to try to have it banned. If this was the reason I got into Photography, I would be a sick person. There have been cases of murder by Photographer and this only denigrates all of the legitimate photographers out there.
I hope you too will help and get this book banned.

So, you must be a liberal democrat, ...Ya wanna "ban" something because you PERSONALLY believe it to be wrong for all of us, if it's wrong where you're concerned. Typical. I know nothing of the book you mentioned, and You could agree, "That, I know nothing, but WHO/WHAT makes you the arbiter of anything? Good luck with your MISSION to have it banned, but I hope that folks like you can NEVER ban anything from other folks. Good reading, and have a nice day. BOB

Nope, that is pretty much what I taught the last time I taught 12th grade government many years ago.

Sort of like the ACLU "should" be defending the far out extremists on all sides, not just the liberal progressive and PC causes. And occasionally they have done so. But every time they did it the liberals/progressives cut off memberships, donations etc and the ACLU backed off to preserve themselves and stay in business. (Mainly to keep their jobs with the organization - who wants to have to go get a real job?)

Sorry to have to tell you this, the ACLU is not an arm of government, their mission is different. You say "Nope" and yet you confirm my position that "some would say" since you yourself have said it in the past. What I actually believe is different that what I think others say. My thoughts run more along the lines of: The real role of government is to balance the abilities of people to be a**holes with the abilities of other people to be a**holes.

Duh! Gee, I know the ACLU isn't gvt, and I never said it was*. But they claim they defend civil liberties, period, yet in the end they almost always defend the liberal/progressive/PC side of things.
And for those who don't know what is going on - my Nope was nope you aren't the only one who says that, not nope it isn't that way. (I get tired of people who don't read the whole thread asking about things that have been covered at least once.)

*One of our main problems today is that many in government have the idea that their job is to use the power of the government to push their own personal view of things. They of course are right and any of us who disagree are stupid, crazy, wrong or evil.

uh, have any of you folks who want to have Amazon ban a book about seduction not seen the multiple daily spam fliers from Amazon and Groupon, an Amazon subsidiary, showing "adult toys?" Perhaps you might want to do a search on both sites before you have a go at Amazon about that book if you'd like to have some semblance of an estimate as to your potential success.
