I know what you mean. It always surprises me when one shot out of a group will be out of focus. Just one of those things. I blame the camera.
Well, I certainly don't need a special lens for that, my regular lens does a fine job of it (much to my dismay
).
Let’s see - a mere $6495 to get out-of-focus shots. Something else I don’t need. At 81, out-of-focus is very easy to achieve!
I have not tried this... However...
If you want a "soft focus" lens.... Try this on your camera.
Only $6500 for a lens that provides images I have been trying to avoid for over 65 years! Such a deal!
vaseline (or KY jelly not flavored) applied thinly on a clear filter. Soft focus trick for decades.
Yrs ago you could buy a 'soft' filter or as my stepfather did.....put a light coat of vaseline on the filter.........(I tried it and what a mess to remove)
At least it was cheaper than purchasing an entire lens.
I imagine slipping some plastic wrap over the lens would do the same.

I use to have, in fact it is still in one of my camera cases, a filter that was clear in the center and was foggy around the edges. I used it for one of my brides shots. It saved some darkroom work.
