So you had no idea what;"cannon" meant when he was on a photography forum? Asking questions about a Cannon T6 or a Cannon PowershotXS60?
My thought for the $0.02 it's worth is that when people point out a mistake and somehow feel it is up to them to point out the miscue they have a need for validation. They need to feel somehow superior. The thought never enters their head: Oh they just made a simple mistake. They were typing a little too fast. No big deal. Their need for self-validation supersedes common sense.

How about taking another look at this subject. Yes, maybe the person was typing a tad too fast. Perhaps his/her fingers got ahead of his/her brain. Most likely s/he didn't bother to "Preview" and proofread what s/he had typed.

Being precise is important in communicating. On more than one occasion here I've seen discussions go on for multiple pages because someone miswrote something. If someone is sloppy in his/her presentation, I have no assurance that s/he wasn't also sloppy in his/her thinking.

Read again please. I think you were so quick to jump someone that you didn't bother to read and understand the whole post I wrote. I said in two recent posts I had read. That does not mean it was THIS post. Mary Kate have you never read something that someone wrote and had a hard time understanding what the message was because wrong words were used?

If you are just trying to, "catch" me, there will be other times. I am definitely not perfect and do make mistakes from time to time. The difference is I will normally thank the person for pointing out my mistake.

Have a wonderful evening,

Dennis

When you reading an article you get the "gist" of the what the person is trying to convey. A misspelled word does not have me jumping for joy in a gotcha moment. I have an understanding that person made a mistake in typing. Not the end of my world. I tend to be more patient with the latter than the former who is quick to correct. Why would you fell the need? Do you not think the person is smart enough to know upon reflection they, dare I say it, misspelled a word? I will agree with you. I'm sure you do make mistakes from time to time. See how agreeable I can be. ....Oh, that would be a koke...or is a joke??

Why you are jumping on specifically me is a wonder to me but you are certainly welcome at any rate. It keeps you away from nagging the many others who did the same thing.

I also note you haven’t replied to my comment that you are totally off base and I had directed my comment to malarz about two other posts. You were/are totally off base and wrong. But have at it.

By the way, it is correctly, FEEL the need rather than FELL the need.

I will be hunting most of the day so if you FEEL the need to keep this up I won’t be back until later.

Have a wonderful day,

Dennis

To BOTH of you. How is this on topic, and how/why is it important. It's high time you BOTH take this useless chatter to either the Attic or as a PM. There are those of us who want to enjoy UHH. Thanks! Chris

Yeah, but, like Mary said...."It's a Photography Forum".....few if any Hogs will miss what he meant by a "Cannon".
You're right, it's easy to be misunderstood, when we just type words. Like one Hog brought up in the past, this is a World Wide Forum. Lots of stuff gets mistaken do to language barriers.

Chris. If the argument between them bothers you, then you really need to point out that Mary K has some spelling errors in some of her replies.

How about you mind your own business. I was done until you decided to play the stern father. Unless you are the monitor stay out of it. You are able to skip on by aren’t you. There is no cursing or name calling so I see no reason for this to be in the attic.

Now do you think your meddling helped or hurt the situation?

Not exactly interesting to the rest of us, but please carry on your childish behavior if you must! Sometimes a stern father is necessary, even here. Please consider me a stern Grandfather.

OK. Did not realize anything was "started". I am amazed at what people consider so trivial a dialog as"started" You dear boy are now safe. Goodbye.

The spelling and grammar police used to really let the Hogs have it. Not so much the last two years, or so.
