The National Museum of African American History & Culture opened just over a year ago. The building is unique and very different from most Smithsonian structures. The vast collection of artifacts is amazing and takes hours to explore. A lot of the interior of the museum is dark, making photography more difficult. The museum is also crowded most of the time. However, I managed to get some nice architectural shots and a few example of the types of displays inside.

Nice shots, especially considering the poor lighting.

You really have me interested in visiting our Capitol again soon. Your shots are excellent and the outside of the building is VERY interesting. Probably a must see. How many days were you there? I last time I was there, I got museum eyes after about six days.

Thank you, Jerry. Inside museum shots are not my favorite thing to do but I tried to capture the feel.

We were there for six days. I think our trip three years ago was six days also. That is about all the body can take. This time we didn't do as many museums as the first trip. We resisted the urge to repeat things we had done before. I doubt we will go again but I don't think I would have much trouble finding new things to see!

Thank you, Mike. This is part of my strategy to not bore my family with vacation photos! Here they can look at their leisure in small bites! I really enjoy sharing some of the less seen viewpoints, too.

Looks like the old cooling towers you see in refineries and chemical plants.

I'm not familiar with those but it is a unique structure.
