Beautiful effect!!! (as usual)....

I've experimented creating veils with GIMP. A wide brush and very low opacity seems to be the way to go. But one needs a very steady hand....

I'll try it again after I have a few Rums.....

Thanks, Ron. I've tried doing the veils with a mouse. Nope, ain't happenin,' lol. Too shaky (I've always been uncoordinated, but now I'm shaky on top of it) Using an electronic stylus for them now, much smoother, and much easier. But yes to both the low opacity and the wide brush, and I just layer them.

Glad you enjoyed this.

Thanks as always for the kind comments and those thumbs, and very much for stopping by once again! It's appreciated!

Fine image Randy. Wow! big expose, hamster fighting!

Thanks, Karin. Glad you enjoyed the image. Pretty lady. And yeah, hamster fighting, a proud and noble tradition, and the documentary 'must-see TV,' as they say. HBO ought to see a ratings skyrocket! And I'm sure Martian will find a way to cash in on both the story and the ad revenue. ; )

Thanks for the laugh and your visit always very much appreciated!

I wouldn't worry about Eisenheim-- you must always remember his most famous quote. If you do the same thing over and over again, and expect a different response, you ain't a cat.--cats are are smarter than that. He is having a terrific time, laughing at all of us. Check out the softest, warmest, cuddliest place at the ministry. Use a stethoscope, check for purring. How is it possible that MP gets better looking with each portrait. May bE she can come up with in inCATation ( as opposed to an incantation) so as to locate Eisenheim, so as to avoid a CATaclismic event. The saga continues.

Thanks, Bob. You could be on to something, as we have no idea where he is yet. Madame P is scrying that crystal ball for all she's worth, and hopefully she'll spot something in the ether to clue us in.

Your idea about checking for purring is a good one, but given that last photo, I don't think he's doing much purring, lol!

Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always enjoyed and appreciated!

The Nanookians planned this caper out carefully. There's not been the faintest sniff of Eisenheim the Magnificent or his captors, despite the many Ministry agents out looking. The Dark Ladies are forbidden to leave the Ministry, per the kidnappers' instructions, but the Martian says time is growing short. He wants Eisenheim found and rescued pronto, as he has a crew from HBO coming this Saturday to do a documentary on illicit hamster fighting (he's negotiated a cut of the advertising revenues when the show airs...), and doesn't want any distractions. He says it's bad enough he has to deal with the hamsters; he simply won't tolerate a mole in the Ministry--never mind a kidnapping--and Madame P is to do something about it forthwith.

Her crystal ball has been warmed up for some serious divining, and she's busy channel surfing the ether to find a station with next week's news for a report on where Eisenheim was (will be?) found.

Randy, I've been looking for such a station most of my life, but I wish Madame P good luck in finding one---btw, great portrait!!

Randy. Lorraine looks like she's wearing a wedding veil. There will be many a broken hearts on the HOG if she is. That is the face that launched 10 million ships to date & more counting. Oh be still my broken heart. I for one can relate to her about having GI problems. At least hers has been taken care of & she is well again, GOD bless her little ole pea picken heart. Offer still goes to look me up on Facebook & if she ever comes to South Florida again have her look me up. But then again I'm sure all of South Florida would want to meet her. Oh & if you ever decide to move to South Florida & open a vet clinic I'd be very happy to work for you. Still have trouble getting into the dog park in North Lauderdale. Takes me 8 to 10 minutes just to get to the bench. I had one pit bull sitting on my lap & when he got off his nails scratched my right forearm which is black & blue now. That is due to my taking blood thinners. And can't forget the Golden Retriever Max who growls & snarls at other dogs when they come over to me for them to pet them. He loves me so very much & he's not even my dog. Makes me feel good though having the love that the dogs give me. That is the only thing I miss from when I was married except for my son of course. Having a work bench in my living room doesn't help. Didn't want to leave it for my ex to have since I made it from scratch. Keep on posting those beautiful pictures of Lorraine.

Thanks, Corky. Maybe the problem is your ball? Try upgrading to Microsoft's new Crystal Ball 3.0. The Apple version--the iBall--is a little more user friendly, but as with all Apple products, it's pricey. The Microsoft version can be used with or without a turban, tho it tends to crash now and then and give you the blue ball of death. Frequent reboots are necessary. Your choice, but if you have the money, I'd personally go for the iBall.

Thanks as always for your fun comments and visit, always very much appreciated!

Sorry to hear about Eisenheim missing. The kittens have been popping in an out searching all over New Mexico. They say they didn't find him at the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque but at admit that they were having a lot of fun riding the gondolas and leaping from one to another. They were really tuckered out when they returned home. And they didn't find him at White Sands - neither the monument nor the missle range. They were gone for two days searching Carlsbad caverns but all they found was bats. Right now they're sleeping soundly after a hearty breakfast. (Too bad I can't take out my camera without waking them up.)
