Negative Flower

Out walking the dog and I saw this nice little (about two inches across) flower. I had a 55mm macro ai manual focus lens on. That does not give me 1:1 but it does get me a nice closeup. I then converted to black and white and in PS inverted the image. Not everyone's taste I realize; but I like the effect.

I like it! The middle of the flower looks cool, and I like the bent pedals on the right. Nature is not always perfect. Nice job and neat effect.

A novel treatment that works well. If there had been blown highlights, your treatment might have been an effective way to deal with it (who notices "blown" shadows?).

A good point that I had not thought about before. I suppose the only clue would be pure black with no detail in it. The pedals of this flower are pretty close to that though. So, it might be something to try. Guess I'll have to go out and overexpose some flowers. That shouldn't be a problem for me at all. lol

An interesting concept Erich...I'm just having a hard time with the whole image seeming oof....seems the tips bother me more than the center.

I must admit, I have not figured out how to get around that. Some images work better than others.
