Love #4 photo. They are all good but that one is really funny. Thanks for showing. /George

George---Picture #4 is still funny whenever I look at it. Skye loved to sleep on that little dog cot, but she never learned to get her head on the cot along with the rest of her body. I actually think she purposely enjoyed having her head hang over the edge of it. I can't begin to tell you how many times people cracked up watching her sleep like that.

Great shots and story. Brings back memories of my junior high and high school days when I rabbit hunted with my uncles with a beagle/bluetick cross who was a a real knothead until I spent one summer working him almost every day until he became one of our best dogs especially for "white rabbits" (varying hare) in deep snow. When he finally passed to the great great woods heaven, I felt lost and even wrote a poem about him for our high school magazine. Unfortunately that was seventy years ago and I do not have a copy, although I am still looking. It started "I never wrote no poetry, I never even tried, but now I write to tell you my old hound dog has died ..." I don't remember all of it but I remember it ended "... Pal was my only choice." That was before my photography days so I don't have any pictures of him or any of the many beagles and hounds my uncle had.

Bud---What a great story about your uncle's beagle/bluetick cross that you trained to be an excellent "white rabbit" hunting dog. And the fact that you even wrote a poem about him for your high school magazine, is quite amazing. I thank you for your nice compliment, and I'm very pleased that you stopped by for a look and wrote such an interesting comment.

Sue...Each one of those 4 dogs was/are wonderful with children, adults, and other dogs. To me they are all gifts. Thank you for your very complimentary remarks, and I'm really glad that you stopped by.

Thank you Jack. My two kids were raised with a wonderful swamp collie (Golden Retriever) named Mitzi. She had to be one of the sweetest dogs God ever put on the planet. Mitzi brought our whole family 15 years of pleasure and joy. She is still missed dearly after all these years.

At 10 and 12 years of age these two are in good shape but their days are numbered and that will be a sad day for us.

Mother nature really cheats us when it comes to our pets. They just don't get to say here with us very long. I hope your two live long and stay healthy.

Ok, ok...I hear ya, but when they are in the house with you, do they let you know when they have to poop?
