You'll become half nuts if you actually go that far to get one of these. 😆😆😆

That was probably the most popular color combination for that year, white body with red trim. My uncle bought one that color with a 283 c.u i.n. v8 and a stick colum shift and of course...the clear plastic seat covers.

I had one of those '61 Impalas for my first car. My dad bought it and let me drive it. It was a convertible, 3-speed, and had that honking 348 (349?) engine. White with red interior, just like the above images. I was really a lucky lad.

Rode in a '61 my cousin (mechanic) was working on. Can't remember if it was a Bel-Air or Impala. I do remember it was a 409 with four on the floor. Damn near lifted the front wheels off the ground. One of my favorite Chevy body styles.

Brings back a few memories. I had a 1961 dark blue Impala, four door.

I had almost the identical car. Mine was an Impala and had different wheels. Only other difference I could see was that the red stripe down the sides were black on my car. I kept it from new for 5 years and sold it when the Turboglide transmission gave out at about 55,000 miles. Had installed Airlift pneumatic bags in the rear coil springs which improved handling. Also had the 283 engine with a 4 barrel carburetor (many say that was the best V8 Chevvy ever made). I always felt that this car was the best looking of the Impalla's made. Wish that I had kept it (famous last words).

My great aunt bought one that looked identical to the picture other than the wheels. I went with her to pick it up. She traded her 1950 Pontiac Fastback.

Well, I've only got one left and I'd just as soon hang on to it, but I've always liked the '53 Cadillac Eldorado; if I had one it wouldn't just sit in the garage, either. The photo is not mine, got it off the Plan 59 website to use as illustration with this post.

I love those cars!

This week conclude the car show season locally with two small shows. This unrestored original was the focal point for me of the smaller show.

Ladies, please don't be upset! It's largely a man thing!!
On of GM's best styling exercises and my favorite ... (show quote)

You guys sure are free with your testicles! It is a pretty car, however.

When I was 16, my folks bought a '67 red 4 door Impala....however, without the post between windows. What a beauty, esp. after I washed and polished it before a date. With the bench seats before the captain's chairs. If I couldn't get IT, my fallback car was the '57 BelAir.

Not pretty enough to lose a testicle over, however.
