Nikon F and F2 F3 all had removable prisms, F & F2 went up, don't remember if F3 was up or slid backwards. I think the Canon F1 also had a removable prism.

Yes. Canon F-1 has removable prism and focus screen.

Why didn't you go and ask them?

They told me to ask you, but you are such a mean old troll, I told them I wouldn't bother!!

Could they have been changing the viewing screen. Putting film under the prism doesn’t seem reasonable, but changing the viewing screen does. Back in my Nikon F days, I used to use several different screens depending on what I was shooting.

Back in my commercial shooting days, it wasn't unusual to put an acetate with layout or croping marks to outline a safe image area. Particularly when the imageneeded room for type or headlines.

I want to thank everybody that has replied to my question. I am sorry I didn't have more information on this subject. I was just half watching this show when they showed this camera. I am sure it will be on again. Then I will try to catch more information. Anyway, thanks again for your replies. Have a great day, and keep firing away!!

Was watching a show on accident reconstruction. They were using a camera where it looked like they were loading a negative into the top of the camera. It looked like they then placed the pentaprisim over the negative. Then they took pictures of the scene where the accident had taken place. This was all done after the scene had been cleaned up for awhile. Any idea what kind of camera it was?

It is an early Nikon F, I believe with the Photomic T meter.
