Bushy, thanks for reading and leaving a comment. Yes, there was a lot there, but the first two related posts were intended to form a foundation for the lengthy discussion to summarize and, hopefully, provide some guidance when taking photographs. Thanks again.

Very nicely done Bob. You did a nice job explaining each element of exposure. Tying it all together is the icing on the cake.

Too bad the threads will soon drift down the list and many people will never see them.

Bill, thank you very much for the kind comments. That is one of the downsides of blogs, they tend to sink. However, I've saved each of the presentations to my pages. That way I can easily reference them, should someone ask about exposure. The drawback to that with the third part is the lack of being able to upload the illustrative illustrations. However, I've links to each page as posted in the third part.

Again, thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for the articles. I keep reading all of the material about 'how to' that is posted here. I also read books on 'how to'. I'm getting the hang of it. It just isn't second nature yet, but it is getting there. I swear that it takes more effort to learn new things now that I'm older (74) then when I was younger. However, I'm still learning. I work in the computer field for the federal government and that requires me to learn new material on a regular bases. They say that learning something new every day keeps you younger. I hope that is true.

Thanks, Tikva, for reading and commenting. Like learning anything new with the computer, after you do the new thing long enough, it becomes natural to you. Photograph is the same. I'm constantly taking photographs, even when I don't have a camera.

THANK YOU for these in-depth articles, Bob ... Thank you to all the contributors on UHH Forum!

I literally stumbled upon this 'goldmine of photography articles' blog called the "Ugly Hedgehog". .... an unusual name that piqued my interest - and glad it did!
IMHO, I find the wealth of knowledge and the willingness to share it extremely refreshing! Although there are differences of opinions throughout, replies/comments are civil - "no question is a dumb question". In this day and age -refreshing!

I describe myself as 'Nubee Retread'. Bought my first camera, a Mamiya/Sekor 1000 DTL Camera during 'basic' at Army BX(PX) in SC.... and have dabbled in/with photography ever since.... 'dabbled' being the operative word - I'm ill-informed in a hobby I enjoy, because I didn't take the time to read more and experiment - this Blog is helping me change that!
Now retired and busy with (too) many hobbies, I find myself seriously looking at either a Canon EOS 7D MK II or even the 5D MK???? GAS ATTACK!!!

Thank you ALL for the education and renewed interest!!
