I shoot very few macro pics but always wish I owned one . Cannot justify spending a fortune on one, but since my dreams have been somewhat shattered, can now maybe afford a cheapy.

Any one had any experience with this lens. At the price it would seem to be a bargain!

That Sigma 70-300mm lens is of high quality and focuses to half-life size when at the 300mm seting. I have used mine for several years now. It's my prefered lens for all of my nature photography. Recently, I was using it to photograph butterflys and large bees on flowers. You'll have lots of fun with it.

Put it on my K-5 and went out and got you a couple of test shots these were hand held at 300mm these are not cropped so you can see what kind of magnification you get.

Thanks so much everyone for your answers. I appreciate it and will go ahead with it. Seems it might even make a good general purpose lens.

Ian

P.S. the various photographs were very good, Thanks

My daughter uses it for her everything lens and I bought the Tamron equivalent for my other daughter to use they like the fact they can use it for distant shots then also get pics of flowers.

Main reason that rivers flow north, south, east or west, it's all gravity. Rivers always flow downhill no matter how much or how little grade there is.
