old news...
they haven't been counting the people looking for full time and accepting part time jobs nor those people who have dropped off the lists by not looking for and seeking unemployment compensation for a looooong time.

I hope we're not saying old news is to be swept aside and never spoken of again. This particular "old news" bears reiteration from time to time so these meaningless numbers don't cloud the true scenery.
As we approach November there will be more skewing of facts to achieve desired results, and we must continually remind ourselves of the "old news" to maintain reality.
Thanks for your post, Archy!

Without looking at the reference, you're right. But this skewing has been going on for years and under both Democratic and Republican administrations. Another thing that tends to get kicked under the rug is the nature of the employment. Whoopee, I'm glad Uncle Sid got a job, it's too bad he's no longer building cars, but is stocking shelves in a Walmart at a fourth of the pay. But he's a plus in the employment column!
