Just came across this photo in my catalog and thought I'd share it.
All comments of any kind welcome.
Nice photo on download. It is still a tourist site attraction today. The most famous prisoner was Al Capone from Chicago. He was released in the 1940s.
Very nice photo thanks for sharing saying hello from Pittsburgh.

Looks great in download. The fog adds a lot to this shot. I like the perspective, were you on the water when you shot this?

Nicely done. With the trees on the edge of the island (on the right) the island looks like a battleship.

Thanks for checking out the photo and taking the time to post a comment. It is one of the top tourist attractions here and the ferries that take people out there are booked solid for months.

Thank you for taking the time to comment --- I was standing in front of the USS Pampanito at Pier 45 when I too the shot.
For those who are not familiar with it we have two historic vessels tied up at for viewing at pier 45 the
USS Jeremiah O'Brien and the Pampanito.
See photo below.
The last time i was on the rock i almost died. It was a hot day, carrying my camera and it is all up hill. Next time I will take the old folk bus to the top and work my way down.
By the way the rock is now famous for the all the birds that nest there.
