Leopards are often attacked and killed by lions, so they tend to hang out and sleep in high spots - including trees. It was always exciting and not unusual to see a leopard sleeping in a tree. They also often drag their kill into a tree - I have one photo of a large impala (one of the antelopes of the region) hanging about fifty feet up in a tree! It was very exciting, though, to see this wide-awake kitty up in a tree - especially since the late afternoon sun was illuminating him in such a fantastic light.

Taken on my recent trip to South Africa - see: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-485747-1.html#8167860

Nice kitty. Not one I would care to pet though.

Great shots. I am always amazed at how they can drag a full grown antelope up a tree.

Great shots. I just returned from Kenya about 3 weeks ago saw a few Leopards but your Picts are great. Never got a close up did you see the great migration?

Thanks - no great migration - just a small stampede!

Got more I could send. My daughter and I went to South Africa Kruger National Park last June.

Ok one more of three cats.

D500 but 80-400 Nikon. Sold it and bought the 200-500 Nikon. Love it.
