You really know very little about the origins of the Second Amendment ..... and I will not waste time to try to educate you ..... but consider this .... at the writing of the Second Amendment .... The U.S. did not have a standing Army of any significance ...... the Federal Government relied on citizen soldiers to protect it from civil disobedience .. remember the Whiskey Rebellion .... Shays Rebellion ..... anyway today the NRA is opposed to the government having a register of all the citizens who own guns ...... yet in the early part of the 18th century ... the government had to know who had guns ...... WHY ..... because in time of danger ....the government would call on gun owners to protect the government .... in fact if you abide by the doctrine of Constitutionalism originalism as understood at the time the Second Amendment was written all of those people who own guns(citizen militia) .... should be fighting in Iraq with their guns ..... read the Federalist Papers ... the ones written by Hamilton and Madison ....

I think the way it works is you get them, and then you talk about them. Doing it the other way around doesn't always work out so well.

you really should re-read the Constitution ..... it is not a law book .... it is the foundation for a government ....if you are looking to determine the basis of our legal system .... I would refer you to English Common Law ...

yes Texas won the war ... but with volunteers from the United States ........and if you read any history of Texas you will conclude that the land was STOLEN from Mexico ...... U.S. citizens were invited in to farm and develop the land ......not take it ...
