HELP!!! Came back from a 9 day cruise with about 500 images. Down loaded them on my Mac and now I can't find them. My card is empty also. On the plane ride home I took my camera out and looked at a few of the images so I know I got them home. Where could they be!!?? Anyone know how I could possibly find them on my Mac?

You can search for *.jpg or *.whatever your camera calls RAW files in Finder?

Download and run FREE Recuva software to recover deleted files from your sd card or hard drive.

Look in the "user" folder. That's where mine got mysteriously placed, and my card was also empty - just a few days ago. Strange. If you have any other shots from the trip, you'll have an idea of the image names. That will make it easier to search.

If you remember how you titled the folder, click on the hard drive icon and in the upper right hand corner is a spot that reads search. Enter the folder name and click return and it should come up if it hasn't been trashed; if that happened and you didn't throw the trash out, doing the same in the trash folder will find it if there.

Now that you have scared yourself or lost photos, do as the computer world has been saying form the start; get 2 external hard drives and store them on both drives. That way when a drive goes down (or you lose them on a drive) you have them backed up on another drive.

Look on you camera and get the name of the current image. Then use Spotlight and search for an image that has a number less than the one on you camera. It should find your images for you.

I recommend using the Image Capture program to download images. It is in the application folder. You can drag it to your dock if you want quick access. It's a graphical interface that is easier to use, and less prone to making mistakes, than the Finder.

Under the Apple icon on the desktop (upper left) click and the select "Recent" ... who knows, you may get lucky there.

Also, under the Finder icon, click on "All my Files" you might be surprised to see the collection of items stored there.

Good luck, and let us know the outcome.

What software did you use to "download" these images??
