Which do you like this is taken at the Brown Canyon Reserve
I like the old west furst, B&W second and color last. The green grass in the color version distracts my eye from the subject.

I agree, I may work on that one to try and blur the background a bit more

I only wish the bottom of the Western photo hadn't vignetted the barbed wire just a little more space between it and the edge of the photo. I think the vignetting helps take the eye off the cattle chute in the background.

I know I was bummed about that I maybe shot it a bit close maybe I will go over there in a day or 2 as its only 10 minutes away and reshoot,
it is a fun and peaceful place, lots of wildlife, also. This was shot a while ago, I appreciate your feedback it helps to get opinions.

Old west is definitely the most appealing. Good shot!

I will check it out will be going through Texas next spring. We used to live in Houston I feel for all those affected by the hurricane we sat through Alecia, lived in Tomball and couldn't get out she changed course and came right through us trees down everywhere our place was ok but 2 blocks over 2 people were killed and many more injured. Never want to go through that again.
The Black and White photograph.
I like the sepia tone the best. Feels like the Old West.
My selection is the second photo as it adds the look of an old western scene.
I like the B & W version the best. I have found that simple compositions that have considerable tonal qualities look best in B & W. Your photo is a perfect candidate for outstanding B & W and your tonal qualities really shine.

I want to like the B+W best, but... Assuming the subject is indeed the barbed wire, it does not stand out enough from the background.
Nice ones. You need tough gloves (or lots of drugs) to fashion something like that.
